2010 Doggy Dash!

Mom and I did the 3-mile Doggy Dash on Saturday -- what fun! We ran into Mom's friend Tasha and her dog, Cooper. Here are some photos from the event. We got some tasty treats from the Westin and stopped for a quick drink in the Eagle River. There were a ton of dogs there and everyone was so nice. In the second photo of this post that brown dog I'm walking with is a Havanese too! I got a great goody bag with lots of new treats and cute stuff. A great time was had by all...and what a beautiful day it was! Thanks Vail Pet Partners for a great event...see you next year!

Park People

I was a little unsure about the bigger dogs like Buckley and Remington who were at the park last week...there were even 2 HUGE Great Danes there...yowzer, they were enormous! I did enjoy some sweet butt sniffing action with a little Bichon who was more my size...I was so consumed with butt sniffing that I didn't even catch her name! Sometimes I just cruise around the perimeter of the park all alone if there is no one that I want to play with....Independent Roscoe!

Fraggle Rock

When I am all scruffy and in need of a good brushing, Aunt Jenny says that I look like a character from the 80's kids TV show, Fraggle Rock. What do you think?

A Roscoe Tote!

My awesome parents bought me this cool personalized LL Bean Tote bag. I love it! I can use it to hold all my things for trips to the dog park, traveling and when I go stay with Marissa & Merrill. Also, as you can see, I can just hop right in it for fun, too! Anyway, I think this bag is super cool...I love that is has my name on it...but most of all I love that it is BLUE...people are always mistaking me for a girl dog! How embarrassing!!!

Dad comes home later -- YIPPEE!!! :) :) :)
Mom's cool and all, but I miss my Dad!

More fun at the dog park

Here are two photos of me from my trip to the park on Saturday. I had a great time playing with 5 new friends...Chloe (Cairn Terrier), Cher (Chihauhua-Fox Terrier), Duncan (Scottish Terrier), Maggie May (Yellow Lab) and Charlie Brown (Lab Mix). All those dogs belong to one couple...can you imagine?! I would love to have that many playmates around all the time. Wait a minute...I take that back...more dogs around the house would mean less attention for me...NO WAY, JACK! I'll stick to playing with other dogs at the park and school, and having Mom & Dad all to myself at home. :)

Run Like the Wind!

The 3-mile race that Mom and I were supposed to do today got cancelled because of the lousy weather...they will reschedule it soon which is good. Since I couldn't get out and run in the race, I ran my little heart out at the dog park...check out the video below to see me and my youthful exuberance in action. I had the park all to myself...what a blast! We even saw these 2 deer there. xoxo R

Thursday!

It's Thursday again and you know what that means -- SCHOOL! Here is another video of me getting totally jazzed once Mom tells me I'm off to school to see my buddies. YIPPEE!
Sorry for biting at your shoes, Mom...sometimes I just cannot contain the excitement.

Sunday Funday!

We started our Sunday with a walk up our street on what was a glorious day...super blue skies, no clouds, lots of sun and the birds were chirping so much on our walk that it sounded like a rainforest! After the walk we went back home and hung out on the back patio catching some rays. Then we headed off to a local park where there is a pond, as Mom thought I might enjoy taking a dip since it was so hot and I haven't been swimming in a while. Well, no dice on that one! I soooo wasn't into it. Plan B was to hit up the Cordillera dog park. It was fab, even if I was the only dog there...I still had a blast running around! I totally want to go there more often!

Sorry there is no mention of my Dad in these posts...but he is super busy getting ready for his trip to Alaska. He leaves tomorrow and I will miss him dearly while he is away! Love you, Dad!

Teva Mountain Games

This weekend was so much fun -- let's start with Saturday. Mom and I headed over to Vail Village where the Teva Mountain Games (http://www.tevamountaingames.com/) were going on. There were a lot of people and dogs there to take in the festivities and participate in the fun events like kayaking, rock climbing, trail running, mountain biking and even fly fishing! Mom's friend Brian did the mountain bike race, as did my vet, Dr. Ron Gruber! Go Dr. Gruber, Go! Mom's friend Carrie did the Mud Run 5K. We met up with Carrie, her husband Brody and their dog Gunnison at Los Amigos in Vail after her race. Here is a photo of me, Brody and Gunny...sorry, I wasn't being very cooperative with my posing.

Snuggles

Every night after I've brushed my teeth, Dad and I enjoy a little snuggle time. Aren't we just the cutest father-son duo that you ever did see?! Mom better step it up next week when Dad is away! I especially like it when he gives me a dog massage...a little to the left, Dad....

Doggy Dash

Check out this fun 3-mile local race that Mom signed us up for: http://vailpetpartners.org/

Dad will unfortunately be in Alaska the day of the race, or else he'd come too!

Funds raised from this event will benefit the Vail Pet Partners Dog Therapy program, which brings therapy dogs to local hospitals, school reading programs and the local cancer care center.

Wish us luck!

SCHOOL!!!!

On Thursdays I go to "school", also known as Walkin' The Dog (http://www.walkingthedogvail.com/).
Look how excited I was to go this morning!!
I love to play with my pals!

My Busy Buddy Tug-a-Jug

Check out this cool toy I got for my 1st birthday from my Grandma Mary Ann and Don! Thank You...I LOVE IT!!!! Mom and Dad put treats in the plastic jug part and then I work them out of there using the rubber ball and rope. Trust me, it is sooooooo amusing! I like toys that make me use my noggin. :)

Memorial Day Weekend

I hope you all had a great long weekend! Dad took 2 days off which was great -- he's been trying to get a lot of work done before he leaves for Alaska on June 8th, so it was nice to have him around for 2 full days! Mom and I took a great 3 mile walk on Saturday --- I was pooped! Sunday I got to play with my friend Jack the Labradoodle from Denver. Even though he is way bigger than me, we are still great playmates. On Monday I got a bath -- not my favorite thing, but I do feel pretty good once it's over. Anyway, here are a few photos of the weekend. XO Roscoe
